Ayleid Weaponry for Beyond Skyrim: Cyrodiil

Ayleid weapons are fun! I got a chance to redesign and work on a few of them for the project Beyond Skyrim: Cyrodiil. The original concept art by M.J. aka Redmorpho are bad-ass. However, as someone who practices bladesmithing, I find her design of the axes rather impractical in real combat. So I started sketching my takes on them and presented to the team, and fortunately... they approved! There were quite a few revisions back and forth of course, but they all ended up in happy middle ground. The bird motifs signify Ayleid elves’ veneration of Auri-El, The chief god of Aldmeri pantheon, who is often time depicted as avian.
